Decorating for Christmas

This year for Christmas we did the decorating a bit different.
Marshall's mom got all the ornaments out that she wanted to use-plus some.
She would have put every single one on the tree if she could have. :)

First we started with decorating the big tree, in the living room

Then Marshall and I went to our room to put up our decorations.

Our little tree

You really can't see it all that well, but we even put up
some lights around both doors to our room.
Ain't she a beauty, just sitting there in our little Christmas corner.

With some of the presents under her already.

The best pic I could get out him that day. He just wasn't having it

me, after all the decorating is done

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving for us was really no different day.
The only difference was that we had tons more food,
and that we all actually ate as a family.
Marshall was nice enough to use his expert skills of cooking
and cook the whole meal for us.

here he is making the pecan pie.

Checking on the turkey
mmm. looks and smells so good

yes, even the puppies had their own plates

Missy afterwards, she didn't want to do anything but sleep

Marshall and His Mom

Just thought that I would post some of my favorite pics of Marshall with his mom.
Here they are on the fourth of july
leaving walmart-begining of August
just after Thanksgiving
we just got done putting up the tree and decorations

Its hard to believe that she keeps shrinking, little by little.
And that she can hardly talk anymore.
When we first got here, we would have full blown conversations
all the time. Now its all she can do to say a few words here and there.
We still love her very much though, and we try to show her all the time.

Surgery 9/27/2010

I know, it's been way too long since the last time I blogged. So lets play a little game of catching up.
Lets see, Sept 27th I had my knee surgery. OUCH! Surgery wasn't really that bad. It didn't take as long as they thought it was going to, so that was good. Waking up was hard for me. I got really sick and couldn't stop throwing up for a while. After they finally released me, I ended up just going to sleep on the way home-helped with being sick, just slept through it all.:)

I was in physical therapy two days later, barely able to walk. But they had to do the first bangage changing. And yes I did cry like a little baby on my first visit. It hurt pretty bad.

Things progressed at a nice rate for quite a while. Then we decided to try and throw in some water therapy. Not a good idea. My knee absolutely hated it. Now I have had to back down off of some of the exercised I was doing, and I am in more pain again. GRRR! I am slowly, and I mean very slowly, starting to progress a bit again. I am mostly just irritated that I'm not healed up yet. I hate not being able to do the things that I need to. I hate not being to walk for long distances. I just plain ol hate being in pain all the time. Especially when it keeps me up all night.
I went and saw my doctor again yesterday, and because of the water set back, and still being in so much pain, he decided to do a cortisone shot. It really wasn't that bad, the nurse had numbed quite a bit, the initial stick with the needle burned a bit, then some more burning when she started pushing the fluid through the needle. I was still pretty numb for a while afterwards, but of course still had the achiness. It wasn't till a few hours later, after the lidocaine had worn off some, that I was in lot of pain, ahhh, so not what I wanted. It was harder for me to get around again. But as the time passed, and the steroids could start kicking in, I started having less and less pain or achiness. Today there really isn't that much pain, still a bit achy, but not quite as much as there was before. So, for now I am kinda liking the shot. Lets just hope that it will continue to work and take most of the pain away.

What I miss about Oregon

Being able to drive to the ocean in an hour and a half

Our FedEx man-this is the only pic I have that represents Gary

Watching Gemia multi-task

Being able to tease Ansley about pulling out her loose teeth

Chasing Miranda all around the house

Listening to Ellies contagious laugh and her little way of saying our names

But most of all, being able to drive around the corner and visit with my boys
and to decorate the headstone for hollidays, especially birthdays.
Today marks Logans 3rd birthday. Its hard to believe that it has been three years already.
But its even harder not having him here to hold and kiss, and squeeze tightly
to wish him a happy birthday. I know that he where he is needed, and
doing what he is meant to do, Its just hard on days like today
to not have him around. To be able to see what kind trouble he
would be getting into, what he would look like,
if he would have my personality or Marshalls.

I love my little guy, no matter what, I know that he is well taken care of
and that he is having a blast with Heavenly Father.
And probably torturing his little brother while he is at it.

I love you with all my heart Logan. You will always be my baby boy.

Buffalo River Canyon

We have found a new little place that we call "our spot"
Its a bit of a drive, but well worth it. Its so beautiful and peaceful.

Marshall looking out over the Ozarks

Shows how far it is from home

Sign telling about Buffalo River Canyon

The best view in the world.
This has kinda become our spot, it reminds us of home-Oregon.
And is pretty much as close to our boys as we can get.
We can come up here to just sit and relax and enjoy the fresh air
as we think about and talk to Logan and Caramon.
I cant wait till the leaves start turning colors,
Marshall tells me it is one of the most beautiful things to see.

Drive In

A few weeks ago Marshall I finally went to our first
Drive in movie. The cool part, besides the movies,
was that it was in a nice little town called...
We had a lot of fun. We saw Salt and Knight and Day.

Marshall looking at me like Im crazy for taking his pic. lol

Our newest addition

When we moved here Marshall's mom had a couple of puppies.
Well, one of them decided that she wanted to adopt us.
So now we are the proud parents of one sweet little
Peanut
Peanut fits in perfect with our little family.
She has the perfect personality.
She is so perfect that she even wanted to be just like us.
She has problems with her knees, just like me.
So now marshall says that we are a match made in heaven. LOL.
We love Peanut, and are very happy that she decided to adopt us..
This is Peanut and her sister Missy. They are practically unseperatable.

Fun at the Lake

A couple of weeks ago we found our new favorite swimming spot. A friend of ours took us to the lake and we had a blast. We spent a good portion of the day there, and we all walked away looking like lobsters. We went to the same lake again yesterday, and just as we thought that our sunburns were going away, we were lobsterized again. Time just seems to fly right on by when we are having a great time.

Marshall in the water.......... Our wonderful friend Sandy

No pets? ok I'll just tie my dog up here then.

First week

So our first week in Harrison (actually Valley Springs) was kinda neat. We got here on Thursday July 1st. Rested on Friday and Saturday. Sunday we went to town for the festivities-which included: tricycle races-by the toddlers, turtles races- they had over 300 this year and it was pretty neat to watch it happen, then we had fireworks that night and after the fireworks they closed down the 'square' for street dancing. It was mostly just high schoolers hanging out so we just went and wandered walmart for bit...Monday we rested some more, didn't want to deal with the holiday traffic. Tuesday we went around town and applied everywhere. Wednesday we went to Branson Missouri so that Marshall could apply at a bunch of places there. while we were there he had a cpl of pre-interviews. Thursday we helped his mom to clean and organize her house some. Friday Marshall went back to Branson for a bunch of interviews, and he came home with a cpl offers. He had to turn some down, but he ended up taking the job at Bass Pro. He had to go up there on the 12th to fill out all the fun paper work, he had orientation on the 13th and he had his first real day on the 14th. So far he really likes it, except for the drive. Its about 45 miles each way. Which is a big bummer. But at least our car is getting really good gas mileage now.
I still haven't found work, which is difficult for me to deal with. There just aren't any nursing homes hiring right now, and either is the hospital. But I keep trying. That all I can do.

Day 6

A funny sign that we kept seeing everywhere
The beaver wanted to try and drive for a bit

We finally made it to Arkansas

kinda what it looks like all the time

Marshall doing what he does best: talking on the phone while driving-barefoot

thought this was awesome since my moms last name is Greenland
Ok so I got really bored. I was tired of being in the car
Good ol' Harrison
We made to our new home around noon and got everything unpacked and set up and were able to finally really relax by 5. it felt so good to finally be out of a car and not have to be back in one in 8 hours or less.
